It has been going on for a number of weeks now so I am hoping there might be answer in here somewhere.AutoSave is enabled when working on a file that is saved to OneDrive, OneDrive for Business, or SharePoint Online. This "used" to work before the upgrade but now we seem to be dealing with this issue. This might be an easy fix but I have combed through the GPO and other wonderful aspects of the DC as well as looked through several forums. Close and reopen the file and the autosave is off again. In either location however if you do a save as to create replica of a document you are working on (these folk do alot of manual daily reports in Excel\Word.yeah I know it isn't a database but that is another battle) the new file always comes up as AutoSave is on. That is how it is supposed to behave and this behaves like this in both regular WIndows explorer folders as well as OneDrive folders. The scenario now is when a file is opened the Autosave is off. Applied it and low and behold it appeared to work.however. Even though i duplicated the servers and verified that the new DC would have all the GPO fixin's I realized initially I hadn't applied a new template for GPO to include the direct "off" buttons for autosave. I went through many forums including SpiceWorks and there alot of suggestions. Anyways this was working with the Windows server versions 2012 R2 and when they were upgraded to Windows 2016 low and behold the GPO quit working. This is an annoying feature for how the users like to use their apps but. I have been working with a number of server swaps and upgrades and one feature that was working fine was a GPO to disable the AutoSave for Microsoft applications Excel, Word and PowerPoint. ![]()
